Memorial Day “Murph” and bbq

Every year CrossFit boxes in the US perform the WOD “Murph”, in memory of all those that have died while in service of this country’s armed forces. “Murph” is named after Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, NY, who was killed in Afghanistan on June 28th, 2005. Originally named “Body Armor”, this was one of Lieutenant Murphy’s favorite workouts.

For time:
1 mile run
100 pull-ups
200 push-ups
300 squats
1 mile run
We are allowing athletes to partition the pull-ups, push-ups, and squats as needed. Start and finish with a mile run. If you have a 20# vest or body armor, wear it.

We will be running two heats: one at 10am and another at 11:30am.
We will have a BBQ and a keg at the gym afterwards (yes on the sidewalk, true Bushwick style!!) so feel free to bring some meat for the grill or other food you would like to eat and any other drinks you would like to bring! Please invite your family and friends!

You are still invited even if you are not doing the WOD!! Come by after 11:30am to root on the 11:30 class and we will get the grill going! See you then!
